Automated External Defibrillator (AED) & Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Subsidy Approval:

AED & CPR Course is approved by Cyprus Human Resource Development Authority (CHRDA / ΑΝΑΔ) for subsidy / grant aid, which is available to companies who meet the criteria for eligibility of such grants. Kalliopi First Aid Training offers assistance in the subsidy application process.

Approved Trainers:

Kalliopi First Aid Trainers / Assessors are certified by Cyprus Human Resource Development Authority (CHRDA / ΑΝΑΔ), to provide First Aid Training Programmes and satisfy the criteria for subsidy / grant aid.

Language:

This course can be taught in either Greek or English.

Who Will Benefit:

This course is available to small, medium or large size companies or individuals who work or aspire to working the following industries: Hotels, Banks, Gyms, Public Swimming Pools, Supermarket & Shopping Centres& Malls, Schools & Universities, Health Clinics, Stadiums, Airport terminals, Bus Stations, Private or Municipal Lifeguards, exhibition spaces or any place frequented by general public

Course Aims:

The aim of the course is to give the chance to participants to certify for CPR and the use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED) according to the Cyprus Government legislation for the placement of AED’s (as published in the Official Gazette of the Cyprus Government PART I, Legislation Part 1, No. 4186, dated 19.12.2008, N.110(1)/2008).

What is an AED?:

An AED is a portable, electronic device especially designed for public access used to administer life saving treatment for Sudden Cardiac Arrest. It diagnoses the heart rhythm and determines if a shock is needed to re-establish an effective rhythm. It gives the user visual and audible prompts, with clear, calm instructions throughout the rescue process. The AED has been designed to be used easily and safely by anyone who has been trained and certified in its use.

Information:

The AED training programme is approved and fully complies with the Cyprus Government Legislation which is in accordance with the latest European Resuscitation Council (ERC) Guidelines.

Course Includes:

6 hours of practical and theoretical AED & CPR training and assessment; Certification for the use of AED & CPR; Training Materials; Manual & Examination; Assessment; Registration and Wall Certificate.

Course Objectives:

This course is designed to train and educate participants in the techniques of confidently using an AED for victims of a cardiac arrest. This course also reviews first aid procedures using Basic Life Support techniques (BLS) and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

1 Instructor per 6 students
1 Oral Resuscitation mask for each student
Latex or medical gloves – 1 pair per student
1 Trainer AED per 6 students
1 Manikin per 6 students
Classroom audio visual equipment

2 Instructors per 12 students
1 Oral Resuscitation mask for each student
